Tepee Styles

The Crow Tepee-Tipi is probably the most pleasing design visually.  The size of the smoke flaps are beautifully proportioned to the nearly conical shape of the tepee (tipi) itself.

The traditional "A" shape door opening is standard on the Crow tepee (tipi).  An oval shaped door opening is available at an additional charge for those that specify it.

The Lakota/Sioux & Cheyenne Tepee-Tipi is very popular because of the extensive historical information available about the tribe.  Many books have been written about the Sioux, and Sitting Bull is probably the best known of all American Indian Chiefs.  Our Sioux tepee (tipi) leans to the back more than the Crow style and comes standard with an oval shaped door opening.  The smoke flaps are longer than those of the Crow tepee (tipi) resulting in a shorter lace pin and door section, and somewhat larger smoke hole.

The Blackfoot Tepee-Tipis looks the same as the Crow style, the difference is how it is sewn together. The Crow style tepee (tipis) is sewn in a circular pattern, the seams are circular, going around the tepee. The Blackfoot style is sewn with two seams going vertical down the back of the tepee about 3 feet apart. With the Blackfoot Style you will also use the 4 pole method to put up the tepee (tipi).

The Kid's Backyard Tepee-Tipi is both fun and functional.  Children love it as a play house and overnight guests will enjoy this unique lodging. Lightweight and easy to set up, this tepee (tipis) is ideal for the backyard.  It measures a full 8'6' in diameter.  The Backyard Tepee (Tipi) is perfect for day care centers and youth activity clubs.  Heavy duty style 9.5 oz. per sq. yd. canvas is used throughout the tipi.  It is durable fabric, water repellent, mildew resistant and flame retardant fabric.  The tepee is assembled with double stitching and all areas of stress are reinforced.  The door has an adjustable opening for easy entry.  Like our larger authentic tepees (tipis) this tepee does not have a floor.  The Kid's Tepee comes complete with 10' breakdown poles for ease of packing and storage.
