- The original dwelling of the Crow Indian is the tepee.
It is made from wooden poles and canvas (buffalo hide) and is
shaped like a cone with two outside smoke flaps.
The door always faces east. The first time one-steps out in the
morning, he faces a new day. He
faces the Old Man, the sun, he takes 4 steps and turns right.
By turning
right, he affirms the path of the sun; he has gotten
ahead of it. By doing this, you want to look forward to good days
ahead.

- Your
stay in a tipi at WestFork is an excellent way to experience the beauty and
peace of the Crow Reservation. Sleep in a tipi under the stars and
breathe clean fresh air. Listen to the night sounds
as you gaze at the starry sky above. You'll be
experiencing a part of the past.
-
- An authentic Crow tipi is
provided with a bed. Additional beds will be provided
as requested. Services are limited to outdoor
facilities. The site has a table, fire pit and
outhouse. Along with the overnight stay, you have
400 acres in which to roam. There's hills to climb,
a small creek and pond to walk along, trees and brushes to
wander through, a little piece of badland to explore, and
of course you can just sit and absorb as much sunshine and
scenery as you wish.
