West Fork

Welcome to West Fork...Itchikdalo'om...awaiting you is a bilingual, bicultural family of Crow Indians, we the He Does It's and Half's live by traditional cultural beliefs and values that adhere to a special way of looking at life and nature to rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit.
Indians have been studied, classified, portrayed in movies, written into scientific papers, and even worse, put on display as museum pieces.  Come see what the Crow Indian People are really like today.  Picture yourself staying in a tepee and mingling with real Crow Indians in a place where the Bighorn Mountains is the backdrop, a scenic and diverse get-a-way.  See and respect nature as our ancestors did.

By experiencing our Crow heritage you will discover some of the attitudes and methods that are used in our way of life.  Enjoy a blend of the past and present.  Listen as we communicate with each other in our Crow language.  Join us as we work and play.  Most of the time we can't tell the difference between work and play because we have so much fun and enjoy doing the things that have to be done on the ranch.  Share with us our way of life, our rich history and nature's beauty.  We are open year-round, with each season. comes new beauty.  It is a special place difficult to leave and impossible to forget.

Arapooish, a Crow chief said, "This is the best of all places in the world: Crow country is exactly in the right place.  Everything good is to be found here."  Just as the Crow chief said Westfork is also. in the right place, the best of all places--Crow Country!

West Fork is is a working ranch, located on the Crow Indian Reservation in south-eastern Montana.  The setting of West Fork provides a variety of activities: camping, nature walks, wildlife watching, scenic drives, picnics, visiting historical sites and attending Crow cultural events.  Picking berries, roots, making dried meat, and getting tipi poles are some of the chores that we do side by side with our regular ranch work since we are Crow Indians.
